Wissahickon Bird Songs
Pine Warbler
This warbler is unusual in that its southern wintering grounds, as well as its nesting areas, are all within the United States. It is among the earliest spring returnees to the Wissahickon, in March. In the spring, its song is one of the characteristics of our remaining mature white pine stands. This bird may nest in the park, although it is not heard often in the hot summer.
